HELLO!!! Yes i am still here :-)

Bit of a different post today thought i'd do one on Maori Fry bread, was making some for morning tea, and thought 'oh i'll take pics and post how to make them', i only started taking pic's halfway thru so sorry none of the dough but i shall try to explain as best i can and next time i make some, i'll take pic's of the whole process :-). Oh and one thing to note: Do not eat these or even read this post if you are on a diet! :-P
Okay one extra thing, go watch this video on youtube and he shows you how to mix/roll the dough so you don't over mix it etc(thats the way i did it anyway, but its up to you how you do it, its your bread :-).

Okay so the recipe is:

3 1/2cups of self raising flour (of course you could use plain flour and add baking powder)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Cold water to mix i used about 2 cups
Oil for frying ( i just used what we had so ended up using canola oil)

made about 17

In a large-ish bowl mix flour and salt then slowly add water to make dough(watch the video!!!)
Turn dough out onto floured surface (pat down with your hands or roll with rolling pin then fold 3 times do this 3 times, Just like Chef John on the vid). Then cut to a size of your liking( i just used a measuring cup our cutters have gone walk-about). Then gently place into the pan with oil(i had element on medium-low) test to make sure it is hot enough by putting a little piece in and if it bubbles around it and kind of sings/sizzles your oil is ready and put your bread in :-) i only had the oil halfway up the sides of the bread, but by all means you can deep fry them :-) they are ready when they are all nicely golden :-)

Pictures:
First side just about ready to flip see the golden edges:

Frying the second side, on some of these(the lighter ones) i turned them back over and let them get a little more golden.

All done ready to enjoy!

Butter and golden syrup, you can have just butter or jam and butter or...

Hope you Enjoy :-)
Till next time...

First Post(not really but introductions): Just Me and My Pony

Welcome to my blog, thanks for stopping by! I have one pony, technically he is a horse, but i call him my pony as a 'kind of' term of endearment,  Chester is a thoroughbred gelding, he is around 15.2 1/2hh or there abouts, but he is really stocky, which makes him seem alot bigger! He is 17yrs old but doesn't really act like it, especially when he comes down the hill for his feed :-D. Here is a bit of a timeline in photos for you:

Cover On:
Chester's first photo shoot ;-P, this was taken the day after he arrived on the truck from Halcombe(about 3yrs ago),

Cover Off:
When i first brought Chester, i kept him at my riding school, this photo is in the stables/barn/tacking up area.
Riding:
One of our first rides, took a while to really start 'riding him' properly and get my confidence up, he alot bigger and more forward moving to the other ponies/horses i was used to riding.
After a while we moved him to our house(we lived out on a farm):
We then decided to move him again as we moved back into town:
We then moved him again as we ran out of grass(yes i know he is a pig!) :-P

Just after we first moved him to his new home(it is out towards the beach).(about 1yr ago)

Summer! lovely warm weather, no need for covers :-D

Chester modeling for his new winter cover :-)

After a good ride and a bath, munching on some hay :-) (present day)

Anyone notice the common theme here???? Yup Food lol. well you are all roughly up to date with chester now :-) till next time.

Just a Few Vid's (My Fav's):

Just thought i'd share a few favourite video's of mine, i use the Clinton Anderson method to train my pony so of course 2 of these are Clinton Anderson and his horses Mindy and Diez. The other is Andreas Helgstrand riding Blue Hors Matine, she is amazing! she just dances :-D
